Apple Pie
This homemade apple pie recipe is so yummy! Super simple to make with tender apples in a flaky crust.

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon great nutmeg
- 6 cups apples peeled and sliced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- pastry for the double crust (9 inches)
- 1 large egg white
- 1 tbsp butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Set aside the sugars, flour, and spices in a small bowl. Toss apples with lemon juice in a big bowl. Toss in the sugar mixture to coat.
- Trim the bottom crust to be even with the edge of a 9-inch pie plate. Dot with butter and fill with apple mixture.
- Roll out the remaining crust to fit the top of the pie; place it on top of the filling.
- Edges should be trimmed, sealed, and fluted. Make slits in the crust.
- Brush the crust with the beaten egg white until it is foamy. Sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Wrap the foil around the edges loosely.
- Bake for 25 minutes at 375°F. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack.
