Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Ingredients
9 chicken drumsticks
1/2 cup of soy sauce
1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup of rice vinegar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
7 cloves of garlic, minced
1.5 Tbsp. corn starch
1 Tbsp. of sesame oil
1.5 tsp. of ginger, ground or fresh
2 tsp. sesame seeds
1/2 tsp. of red pepper flakes
3 green onions, white bottoms separated from green tops
Extra sesame seeds for garnish
2 Tbsp. of olive oil to grease the pan You might also use sesame oil but I always feel that olive oil has the most neutral taste.
Optional: Sriracha if you like it spicy
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Preheat your grill to medium if you’d like to cook these on it.
2. Whisk cornstarch and sesame oil together on the stovetop. Heat until the mixture begins to bubble. Add the honey, soy, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger, and turn down the heat. Heat for almost 5 minutes on low. Add the green onion bottoms, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds, and cook for a couple more minutes.
3. Turn off the burner and prepare a plan for your baking. As the sauce sits, it will thicken. To wipe down the bottom and sides of the pan, use olive oil, ensuring each part is covered. Then add some legs of chicken. Divide your barbecue sauce into 2 parts. To coat the chicken legs, use half of the sauce and reserve the other half for serving. Bake for around 45 minutes.
4. The tops of the green onions and sesame seeds are garnished. Directly serve.
