Chinese Orange Chicken
Chinese orange chicken made with authentic orange sauce covered with crispy fried chicken. The best recipe for Chinese orange chicken, which is much better than a take-out.

Ingredients
Chicken:
4 Cut into bite-size parts of Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
3 eggs whisked
1/3 cup of Cornstarch
1/3 cup of Flour
Oil for frying
Orange Chicken Sauce:
1 cup of Orange Juice
1/2 cup of Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Rice Vinegar or White Vinegar
2 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce use tamari for a gluten-free dish
1/4 teaspoon of Ginger
1/4 teaspoon of Garlic Powder or 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
1/2 teaspoon of Red Chili Flakes
Orange Zest from 1 orange
1 Tablespoon of Cornstarch
Garnish:
Green Onions and Orange Zest
Instructions
To make the orange sauce:
1. Add the orange juice, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red chili flakes into a medium pot. 3 min of heat. To form a paste, whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Add and whisk together in the orange sauce. Continue cooking for 5 min until you start to thicken the mixture. Remove it from the heat and add the orange zest once the sauce has thickened.
To make chicken:
1. In a shallow dish or pie plate, place flour and cornstarch. A pinch of salt is added. Oh, stir. In a shallow dish, whisk in the eggs. In the egg mixture, dip the chicken pieces, and then the flour mixture. Place yourself on a plate.
2. Heat 2-3 inches of oil over medium-high heat in a heavy-bottomed pot. Using a thermometer, observe it reach 350 degrees. Cook several chicken pieces at a time by working in batches. Cook for around 3 minutes, till golden brown, turning often. Put the chicken on a plate lined with paper towels. Just repeat.
3. Toss the orange sauce with the chicken. Some of the sauce can be reserved for you to place on rice. If so needed, serve with a sprinkling of green onion and orange zest.
