Purely irresistible, this pie! It’s so delicious, so fluffy, so rich, so creamy. It is absolutely flawless and incredibly easy to make!
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes
Servings: 10
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of salted butter, cut into four pieces,
1 cup of chocolate chips with semi-sweet
1/2 cup of chocolate chips bittersweet (or another 1/2 cup of semi-sweet if you don’t want it to be quite as rich)
Mini marshmallows, 2 cups
1/3 of a cup of milk (whole or 2 percent )
1 Tsp extract of vanilla
1 3/4 cups of cream for heavy whipping
1 (6 oz) store-bought crust of Oreo pie
Topping With
1 cup of cream with heavy whipping
2 Tbsp of sugar granulated
Shavings of chocolate, for garnish
Instructions:
1. To a large saucepan, add butter, milk, semi-sweet chocolate chips, bittersweet chocolate chips, and marshmallows.
2. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until it has melted chocolate and marshmallows (it will take a while for the marshmallows to melt, keep stirring).
3. Remove from heat, add vanilla to a large mixing bowl and leave to cool for about 45 to 60 minutes (it should be about room temperature).
4. Whip 1 3/4 cups of heavy cream until it forms very rigid peaks. Fold it into a mixture of cool chocolate.
5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the Oreo crust and spread it into an even layer (you can only reserve some of the mousse chilled in cups for later if you do not want it as tall as mine is).
6. Chill for 3 hours in the refrigerator.
7. Whip the remaining 1 cup cream for the topping until soft peaks form. Add the sugar and whip until very rigid peaks are formed.
8. Spread over the pie, add the chocolate to the garnish, then cut into slices. Store the pie in the fridge.
9. With 1 cup of milk chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips for more of a milk chocolate flavor vs. the regular dark chocolate flavor it has, I’ve also made this successfully.
10. Just run a vegetable peeler down the sides of a bar of chocolate to create chocolate shavings.
