Healthy Oatmeal Pancake Recipes
Making healthy pancakes is easier than it sounds. I’m always on the hunt for healthy recipes for pancakes, so I needed to write a post on how to make pancakes with oatmeal. I believe that oatmeal pancakes offer the same flavor profiles, but without the same ingredients offered by your boxed varieties.
Yield: 12
Prep time: 10 MINUTES
Cook time: 15 MINUTES
Total time: 25 MINUTES
Ingredients
* 1 cup of flour
* 1 cup of oatmeal
* 2 tablespoons of white sugar
* 2 teaspoons of baking powder
* 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 eggs
* 1-1/2 cups of milk
* 2 teaspoons of vanilla
Instructions
1. In a food processor, add the flour, oatmeal, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt and process for 15 seconds.
2. You’ll break down the oatmeal, which is something you’ll have to do, by using the food processor.
3. So you want your eggs, milk, and vanilla to be added and processed for another 20 seconds or till your batter is well combined.
4. You are ready at this point to preheat your griddle or frying pan until it becomes hot and ready to go. With a nonstick cooking spray, spray what you are using.
5. On the hot griddle, pour 1/4 cup of batter and heat your healthy pancakes for 3 mins before flipping and heating the other side for an additional two min.
6. Please be sure to keep an eye on everything that you do. We all know that when we are not looking, pancakes could really brown fairly quickly.
7. As shown, a good indicator that the pancakes are ready to flip is once the batter bubbles.
8. Pile them up high. With hot syrup, serve. Enjoy.
