French Silk Pie – Look no further for a pie for chocolate lovers to make this holiday season. Maybe this is just one of the best pies you’ll ever eat! I know it’s a bold statement, but it’s true and for you chocolate addicts, like me, in particular. This delicious chocolate pie is my concept of the pie of perfection.
I am so excited that my friends have just flown in for a visit. I wanted to do something that I knew they’d love, so the first thing that came to mind, of course, was something loaded with chocolate. And is there a better way than chocolate pie to welcome your friends?
But, let’s not just refer to this pie as a “chocolate pie,” the ultimate luxury of chocolate pies. You will begin to understand why this is called French Silk Pie, with its absolutely delicious satiny smooth texture that just melts away in your mouth, in a way like nothing else. Its tasty silky smooth consistency is to die for.
French Silk Pie
Are you into chocolate? Get this pie made. And you will enjoy and savor every bite, of course, just as I did!
Ingredients
1 (9-inch) pie crust, blind baked then chilled
1 cup of granulated sugar, divided
1/4 cup of packed light brown sugar
1/4 tsp of salt
3 large eggs
6 oz bittersweet chocolate chips (I recommend Ghirardelli)
1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
8 Tbsp of unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups of heavy cream
3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Topping
2 1/2 cups of heavy cream
5 Tbsp of granulated sugar
2 – 3 oz dark chocolate, and finely chopped or shaved with a vegetable peeler
