Ingredients
1 3/4 cups (248g) of all-purpose flour**
2 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of salt
2 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp of ground cloves
4 large eggs
1 cup milk (whole or 3%)
1/2 cup of sour cream
6 Tbsp (85g) unsalted butter, and melted
1/2 cup (110g) of packed dark brown sugar
3 Tbsp (66g) of unsulphured molasses
Cream Cheese Glaze
4 oz. cream cheese, and softened
1/4 cup (56g) of unsalted butter, and softened
1 1/2 cups (190g) of powdered sugar
3 – 4 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
Instructions
– Preheat the waffle iron when the batter is prepared, then whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves for 25 seconds in a large mixing bowl.
– In the center of the flour mixture, make a well and then set it aside.
– Whisk the eggs together in a separate medium mixing bowl and then add the milk, sour cream, brown sugar, butter, and molasses and whisk until well combined.
– Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture well and then whisk the mixture until mixed (batter can be slightly lumpy).
– Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray and pour batter into waffle iron (the amount you need to add will vary depending on the size of the waffle maker. For smaller waffles, you will need about 2/3 cup only about 1/3 cup for Belgian waffles).
– Cook and serve either pipe over top by pouring it into a resealable bag and snipping one end or spoon and spread over top, as aimed by manufacturers of the waffle iron and plate waffles, with cream cheese glaze.
Cream Cheese Glaze
– Place the cream cheese and butter in a medium mixing bowl and then, until well blended and slightly fluffy, use the electric hand whip mixture.
– Add in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk and whip mixture until light and fluffy.

Recipe Notes
– I got 14 smaller waffles from this recipe and for Belgian waffles, you’ll get about 5 – 6.
– To measure flour do not sift or whisk first, simply scoop with a measuring cup and level top with a butter knife.
