Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 (8 oz.) packages of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 (8 oz.) packages of cream cheese softened
- ½ cup sugar
- Juice and zest from two lemons
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter-melted, slightly cooled
- ¼ cup sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish with aluminum foil and spray it with cooking spray.
- Spread out one tube of crescent roll dough in the prepared baking dish, stretching it to cover the bottom.
- In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese with ½ cup of sugar, juice from 2 lemons, and most of the lemon zest until smooth. Spread this mixture over the crescent roll dough.
- Lay out the second tube of crescent roll dough over the cream cheese mixture, gently stretching it to cover.
- Brush melted butter evenly over the top layer of the crescent roll dough. Mix the remaining lemon zest with ¼ cup of sugar and sprinkle it over the butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Let the dessert cool for about 20 minutes, then use the foil to lift it from the baking dish onto a cutting board. Cut it into squares while still on the foil, then return it to the baking dish and refrigerate until chilled for at least 1 hour.
