Ingredients

  • 1 Onion sliced into 1/2 thicken slices and divided into rings
  • ½ cup Flour
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • Vegetable Oil For Frying

Instructions

  • You’ll need three small bowls. Put the flour in the first, beat together the eggs and milk in the second, and place the Panko crumbs in the third.
  • Take your onion slices and dredge them first in the flour, then dip them in the egg mixture, and finally coat them in the Panko crumbs. Lay them gently on a plate while you finish coating the rest. Make sure each slice is fully coated so they fry up perfectly.
  • Pour about 2 inches of oil into a small saucepan and heat over medium until it reaches 375°F. Carefully place the coated onions into the hot oil. Fry them until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  • Remove the onion rings and set them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Be careful—they’ll be hot!
  • Sprinkle a little salt over the top while they’re still warm to keep them crisp.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
  • These are best eaten fresh, when they’re golden, crunchy, and full of flavor.
