Ingredients
1Onion sliced into 1/2 thicken slices and divided into rings
½cupFlour
½cupMilk
1cupPanko Bread Crumbs
2Large Eggs
Vegetable Oil For Frying
Instructions
You’ll need three small bowls. Put the flour in the first, beat together the eggs and milk in the second, and place the Panko crumbs in the third.
Take your onion slices and dredge them first in the flour, then dip them in the egg mixture, and finally coat them in the Panko crumbs. Lay them gently on a plate while you finish coating the rest. Make sure each slice is fully coated so they fry up perfectly.
Pour about 2 inches of oil into a small saucepan and heat over medium until it reaches 375°F. Carefully place the coated onions into the hot oil. Fry them until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Remove the onion rings and set them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Be careful—they’ll be hot!
Sprinkle a little salt over the top while they’re still warm to keep them crisp.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
These are best eaten fresh, when they’re golden, crunchy, and full of flavor.
