Ingredients
10slicesbriocheand hearty crusty french bread or sourdough*
4eggs
3/4cupof whole milk
1/4cupof heavy cream
1Tbspof granulated sugar
2tspof vanilla extract
1 1/2tspof ground cinnamon
Butter for griddle
Warm maple syrup
Instructions
Preheat your non-stick electric griddle to 375°F, or use a large non-stick skillet or griddle pan over medium-low heat.
Whisk the eggs and cinnamon in a large shallow dish. Add the milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla, and whisk until well combined.
Butter the griddle just before placing the bread on it.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides. If you're using brioche, dip quickly; for heartier French bread, let it soak a bit longer.
Cook the bread on the griddle for about 3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for another 3 minutes until golden brown.
