Ingredients

  • 4 6 oz each cod fillets, skinless, about 1-inch thick
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoon Danish Creamery Butter cut into 1 tablespoon pieces, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper—this will be your flavorful coating!
  • Sprinkle the flour mixture generously over both sides of the cod fillets. Use it all up—no leftovers here!
  • In a non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter with 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the cod to the hot pan and cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, until it’s golden and flakes easily with a fork. Once done, move the fillets to your serving plates.
  • Turn the heat down to medium-low, then melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet.
  • Toss in the garlic and sauté it for about 15 seconds—just until it smells amazing and turns a light golden color (don’t let it brown!).
  • Take the skillet off the heat, then carefully stir in the chicken broth and lemon juice—it might steam a bit, so watch out!
  • Pour that delicious sauce right over your cod fillets, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve them up warm. Enjoy!
