In a small bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper—this will be your flavorful coating!
Sprinkle the flour mixture generously over both sides of the cod fillets. Use it all up—no leftovers here!
In a non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter with 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the cod to the hot pan and cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, until it’s golden and flakes easily with a fork. Once done, move the fillets to your serving plates.
Turn the heat down to medium-low, then melt the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet.
Toss in the garlic and sauté it for about 15 seconds—just until it smells amazing and turns a light golden color (don’t let it brown!).
Take the skillet off the heat, then carefully stir in the chicken broth and lemon juice—it might steam a bit, so watch out!
Pour that delicious sauce right over your cod fillets, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve them up warm. Enjoy!
