Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lbs extra large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp thinly sliced green onions optional
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp peeled and minced ginger
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, water, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sriracha, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch. Whisk thoroughly until the cornstarch is fully dissolved, creating a smooth and flavorful sauce.
  • Heat olive oil in a large 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer, ensuring even cooking.
  • Sear for about 1 1/2 minutes without stirring, allowing them to develop a light golden crust.
  • Flip the shrimp quickly and cook for another 30 seconds. Give the prepared sauce a final whisk, then pour it into the skillet.
  • Stir gently, making sure to coat the shrimp evenly, and continue cooking for about 1 minute. The shrimp should be cooked through, and the sauce will thicken to a glossy finish.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables.
