Making Brownie Truffles is a breeze – soft, chewy brownie balls dipped in melted chocolate. They’re irresistibly fudgy, soft, and utterly addictive!
PREP: 20 MINS
COOK: 30 MINS
TOTAL: 50 MINS
SERVINGS: 35 TRUFFLES
Ingredients
Brownies:
- 1 pan Brownies baked in a 9×13 inch pan
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, Guittard/Ghirardelli
- chocolate sprinkles opt.
Instructions
- Make the brownies following the recipe instructions. Be careful not to bake them for too long; we want them to be soft and warm for the best results.
- To get started lay a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet and keep it aside.
- Now, let’s shape the brownie balls: Once the brownies have cooled enough to handle, use a fork to crumble them up. Take about 1 heaping tablespoon of the crumbled brownies, press it together in your hands, and form it into a ball. You should end up with around 35 balls.
- Time to melt the chocolate chips: You can do this in a double boiler (create one by placing a heatproof bowl over a pot of lightly simmering water) or use the microwave. Stir the chocolate often until it becomes smooth.
- Coat the brownie balls in chocolate: Drop a brownie ball into the melted chocolate, use a fork to coat it on all sides, and then lift it up, letting the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
- Place the chocolate-coated brownie ball on the prepared pan and, if you like, sprinkle some decorations on top. Allow them to set up at room temperature or speed up the process by refrigerating for a few minutes until the chocolate sets. Enjoy your delicious brownie bites!
Notes
- Chocolate: For the best results, choose high-quality chocolate chips such as Guittard or Ghirardelli, as they melt smoothly. Other brands may not work as well. Alternatively, you can use high-quality chocolate bars or Bakers chocolate.
- Brownies: While we recommend homemade brownies, a box mix can also be used.
- Make Ahead Instructions: Prepare these in advance and store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Freezing Instructions: To freeze, place the brownie balls in an airtight freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for up to one month.
