The Only Strawberry Brownies with Glaze Recipe You Will Ever Need

Ingredients

For the Brownies

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 76 g salted butter melted (⅓ cup), or 80 ml oil (⅓ cup)
  • 5 ml strawberry extract 1 tsp

For the Glaze

  • 90 g powdered sugar ¾ cup
  • 40 g strawberry preserves 2 tbsp
  • 22 ml milk 1½ tbsp

Instructions

  • Before you begin, preheat your oven to 350°F, 175°C. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking pan, then line the base with parchment paper, allowing it to extend up at least two sides. This little step makes lifting the brownies out of the pan much easier once they have cooled.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, melted salted butter, and strawberry extract. Stir until everything is thoroughly blended. The batter will be quite thick, which is exactly what you want for rich, chewy brownies.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread it evenly from corner to corner. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Since every oven bakes a bit differently, start checking near the lower end of the baking time.
  • Once baked, place the pan on a wire rack and allow the brownies to cool completely before adding the glaze.
  • For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, and milk in a small bowl until smooth and glossy. Pour the glaze over the cooled brownies and gently spread it into an even layer.
  • Allow the glaze to set, then cut into 9 generous squares or 12 smaller portions. Serve and enjoy every sweet, strawberry-filled bite.
